Twelve Games With 200+ Points

It's been a wild start to the regular season. Teams are putting up big numbers on offense, most notably Avtodor's 131-point outburst in Astana, which shattered the previous mark of 119. Avtodor and Astana also combined for 224 points, 2nd-most in league history.

VTB-League.com looks back at the 12 highest-scoring games ever, each of which resulted in 200+ points.

Azovmash - Tsmoki-Minsk: 102-98 (2 OT)

February 16, 2014 in Minsk
Top Scorers: Keith Benson (Tsmoki-Minsk) - 25 points, Terrell Stoglin (Azovmash) - 29 points

Neither team was particularly impressive on offense, but the game went to double overtime, bumping up the point total. Terrell Stoglin won the game for Azovmash, scoring 29 points in his Mariupol debut.

Lietuvos Rytas - Enisey: 103-97

Darius Songaila (Lietuvos Rytas) - 25 points, Gregory Renfroe (Enisey) - 20 points

The Lithuanians had one of the league's top-scoring teams during the 2013-14 season and came out firing in this game, especially from long range. Lietuvos Rytas and Enisey ultimately combined for 22 3-pointers. The home team was led by Gediminas Orelik and Martynas Gecevicius, while Anthony Fisher and Gregory Renfroe did most of the damage for the visitors. The game's biggest star, however, was Darius Songaila, who dominated the paint for 25 points, leading Rytas to victory.

Khimki - Enisey: 108-92

Alexey Shved and Tyler Honeycutt (Khimki) - 17 points, Delroy James (Enisey) - 25 points

Prior to Week Eleven, this had been the highest-scoring game of the season. The home team was in control most of the contest, led by Alexey Shved and Tyrese Rice, who did a good job scoring the ball and getting teammates involved. The Siberians kept the game close, but an injury to D.J. Kennedy crippled Enisey's hopes of an upset.

Avtodor - Krasnye Krylia: 105-99

Courtney Fortson (Avtodor) - 24 points, David Jelinek (Krasnye Krylia) - 27 points

The two teams combined for 177 field-goal attempts, one of the league's top marks. Saratov led by as much as 21 and held on for victory, despite a late comeback from Samara that cut the deficit to four with a minute and a half to play.

Khimki - CSKA: 107-104

Petteri Koponen and Paul Davis (Khimki) - 17 points, Milos Teodosic (CSKA) - 29 points

This may have been the best game of the 2014-15 regular season. While these two teams were among the league's top defensive squads last season, their meeting in Khimki turned into a shootout. Khimki relied on the pick-and-roll with Paul Davis and perimeter shooting, while CSKA turned to guards Milos Teodosic and Nando De Colo. The game was ultimately decided by one shot. Khimki guard Tyrese Rice got free of his defender, Manuchar Markoishvili, and drilled a '3' to give the home team the win!

Two and a half months after the loss to Khimki, CSKA lost by an identical score to Avtodor. The game had no significance on the standings, which may explain the run-and-gun offense and Avtodor's surprise success. The home team controlled the contest for the first three quarters, but Saratov would not be denied in the final period. Led by Courtney Fortson, the Black-Whites scored 38 points in the 4th quarter to get the win!

Nemanja Jaramaz (Turow) - 30 points, Ben McCauley (Donetsk) - 28 points

This game in Poland made the list thanks to a thrilling overtime as the visitors escaped Zgorzelec with a four-point win. Ben McCauley and Bernard King led the way for Donetsk, combining for 15 points in the extra period. Turow simply couldn't match their firepower...

This game proved to be a tough test for Vasily Karasev's men. The team was hit hard by injuries and the flu prior to the game, leaving Karasev with eight men on his roster. During the game, Andrey Koshcheev also had to leave with an injury...Nonetheless, the visitors held on for a win thanks to the outstanding play of Walter Hodge, Dejan Borovnjak and Pavel Spiridonov.

Martynas Mazeika (Neptunas) - 33 points, Aliaksandr Kudrautsau (Tsmoki-Minsk) - 37 points

Martynas Mazeika and Aliaksandr Kudrautsau were on fire in this game, combining for 70 points! Kudrautsau won the shootout (37 to 33), but the Dragons failed to get the win on the road. Despite Mazeika fouling out at the end of the 4th quarter, Neptunas surged to victory in overtime.

Avtodor - Tsmoki-Minsk: 119-99

Aliaksandr Kudrautsau (Tsmoki-Minsk) - 18 points, Courtney Fortson (Avtodor) - 28 points

Courtney Fortson was unstoppable in this game, dishing out 17 assists to go with 28 points. The visitors also got terrific 3-point shooting, knocking down 16 from beyond the arc to outgun Tsmoki-Minsk on the road. Five straight 3-pointers from Fortson, Alexey Vzdykhalkin and Micah Downs sealed the win in the 4th quarter.

This is the highest-scoring game in league history to not include overtime. Saratov also set the record for most points by one team (131), smashing the previous mark of 119. Avtodor looked very comfortable in an up-tempo game. Paul Stoll and Denis Lukashov helped the visitors pick up an early lead and score an incredible 71 points in the first half. Astana couldn't stop Avtodor, but also put up some impressive numbers on offense, scoring 33 in the 4th quarter.

Krasny Oktyabr - Tsmoki-Minsk: 113-112 (OT)

Top Scorers:
Keith Benson (Tsmoki-Minsk) - 19 points, Randy Culpepper (Krasny Oktyabr) - 41 points

The league's highest-scoring game in history took place in the first week of the 2013-14 season. Oktyabr guard Randy Culpepper stole the show in Minsk, dropping 41 points, which remains the single-game record in the VTB United League.

The outcome was ultimately decided in overtime. With 8 seconds to play, Branko Mirkovic appeared to give Tsmoki the win, knocking down a '3' to put the home team on top, 112-111. But Oktyabr would not be denied. Cuthbert Victor scored on a layup at the buzzer to give the visitors a 113-112 win. The ending was made even more memorable by Oktyabr president Dmitry Gerasimenko's epic celebration on the court.
