Damian Kulig named League's Top Polish Player

Kulig averaged 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game

Turow center Damian Kulig has been named the 2013-14 VTB United League's Top Polish Player.

This is the second-straight year that the VTB United League has honored the top individual players in each of the League's nine countries. In the six nations represented by just one club (Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Belarus, Czech Republic and Kazakhstan), the League picks the winners. Elsewhere, in Russia (represented by nine clubs), Lithuania and Ukraine (two clubs each), the top player is determined by the League and a leading sports media outlet in that country: Russian information agency R-Sport (RIA-Novosti), Lithuanian website basketnews.lt and Ukrainian website basket-planet.com

Damian Kulig wins this award for the first time (the League honored Turow forward Aaron Cel as the Top Polish Player last season). Over the past VTB United League season, Kulig played in all 18 games for Turow, averaging 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and an efficiency rating of 15.1.

- I'm very happy about this award, - Damian Kulig shared in an interview with VTB-League.com. - This is an excellent evaluation of all my work this season. Plus, it's good motivation for the future. Significant credit goes to coach Miodrag Rajkovic and my teammates--they helped me get better.

The 2013-14 season for Turow was a lot more successful than the previous one. We can be proud of ourselves. The playoffs were so close....
