VEF wins Latvian championship

VTB United League club VEF has regained the Latvian championship to win the nation's domestic title for the 4th time.

VEF defeated rival and defending champions Ventspils in the playoff finals (4-2). Riga won the first (81-77), fourth (86-79), fifth (75-63) and sixth (71-63) games in the series.

VEF forward Mareks Mejeris was named the playoff MVP.
