Ryan Toolson Named April MVP

Zenit guard Ryan Toolson has been named the VTB United League's April MVP.

The VTB United League and Sport-Express use the following factors when selecting the MVP: player efficiency rating, expert rankings and the VTB-League.com fan vote.

Toolson finished with 6 points in the ranking, beating out VEF center Josh Harrellson and Khimki guard Alexey Shved (each with 4 points).

Toolson helped Zenit post a perfect 7-0 record in April and clinch the league's three seed in the postseason, which includes home-court advantage in the first round. Zenit's biggest win came against Euroleague Final Four-bound Lokomotiv-Kuban on the final day of the regular season.

Toolson put up big numbers on offense in April, averaging 20.9 points (58.4% from downtown, 25-25 from the line), 2.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and a 19.6 efficiency rating.

In addition to the game vs. Lokomotiv-Kuban, when he scored a game-high 23 points, Toolson had two big performances vs. Kalev, scoring 31 and 33 points, while shooting 19-26 from the field.

Joining Toolson on the VTB United League All-April team, as selected by VTB United League and Sport-Express experts, are VEF center Josh Harrellson, Krasny Oktyabr forward Jerry Jefferson, Avtodor guard Paul Stoll and Khimki guard Alexey Shved.
