Rain Veideman named League's Top Estonian Player

Kalev guard Rain Veideman has been named the VTB United League's Top Estonian Player in 2014-15.

This is the third year that the VTB United League has honored the top players in each country represented by League clubs. In the six countries with just one club (Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Finland), the league awards the prize. In Russia, which has 10 clubs, Russian information agency TASS partners with the league to name the top Russian player.

This is the second straight year that Veideman has received the honor from the VTB United League. The first player to win the award was Kalev guard Tanel Sokk in 2012-13.

Veideman played 23 games for Kalev, averaging 27.5 minutes, 11.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and an efficiency rating of 8.5.

- I'm very happy about this award, - Rain Veideman said in an interview with VTB-League.com. - This was my second season in the VTB United League. I knew what to expect and the level of play that I would encounter. We had a pretty successful regular season. We came up just short of reaching the playoffs. Everything was in our control, but we lost in Minsk...
