Nymburk Posts 100+ Prior To Zenit Showdown
Nymburk defeated Vita at home, 111-51. The home team went up by 17 points in the 1st quarter and never looked back, smashing the Georgian visitors for their 16th win of the season.
Recap
Vita celebrated its first win of the season last week in the VTB United League, but had to play without its Americans on Tuesday in the Czech Republic. Not surprisingly, Nymburk sought to take advantage, pushing the tempo with frequent substitutions and quickly wearing down the visitors.
The first half belonged entirely to Ronen Ginzburg's club. Nymburk shot 60% from the field with only one turnover and enjoyed a 32-point edge at halftime, 56-24.
The Czechs turned to their bench in the second half and continued to score in bunches. Nymburk ultimately matched its club record for margin of victory (60, set earlier this season vs. Vita on the road), crushing the visiting Georgians, 111-51.
Five days from now, Nymburk hosts Zenit St. Petersburg in a game with big playoff implications. If nothing else, the Czechs proved today that they will be ready.
Star Player
Chasson Randle. The American guard started the game on the bench, but ended up scoring a team-high 19 points (80% from the field) to go with two rebounds, six assists, three steals and zero turnovers.
Stat of the Game
5 - number of turnovers committed by Nymburk. That's one of the best results in league history and a club record for the Czechs.
