Nymburk Dominates Bisons In Finland
Nymburk defeated Bisons on the road, 96-60. The Lions established control early and never let the Bisons into the game, winning by 36. The Czechs have now won 15 games and can clinch a spot in the postseason with another win or a Krasny Oktyabr loss.
Recap
Nymburk needed just five minutes to break down Bisons' resistance. Tuukka Kotti led the way early, scoring seven points. Unfortunately for the home team, the Lions neutralized the rest of the squad, limiting Bisons to nine points in the opening period.
On offense, Nymburk controlled the glass and enjoyed success in transition, picking up a 24-9 lead at the end of 10 minutes.
By halftime, the visitors had doubled up Bisons on the scoreboard, 46-23. Little changed in the second half as Nymburk cruised to a big win to take over 7th place in the standings.
Nymburk has virtually guaranteed a spot in the postseason, needing only to avoid a tie with Avtodor and Krasny Oktyabr, an unlikely outcome given that the Czechs would need to lose their remaining five games, while Oktyabr would have to finish the season with a 5-0 record.
Star Player
Petr Benda. Benda helped the visitors pull away by shooting 7-7 from the field and pulling down five rebounds in the first half. Leading by 23 at halftime, Nymburk didn't need much help in the second half, and Benda spent most of the final 20 minutes on the bench.
Stat of the Game
15 - Nymburk's advantage in the 1st quarter. The Bisons never recovered from their poor start to the game.
