League executives attend Russian streetball championship
The Russian 3x3 streetball championships were held in Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday with the VTB United League in attendance.
The festivities were held on Nizhny Novgorod's central square. Six streetball courts were installed on the square and more than 100 teams took part in the tournament.
There was also a VIP game, featuring new Russian Basketball Federation president Andrei Kirilenko as well as VTB United League president Sergey Kushchenko and deputy general director Ilona Korstin. Nizhny Novgorod province deputy governor Dmitry Svatkovsky, Nizhny Novgorod province sports minister Sergei Panov, Nizhny Novgorod youth team coach Alexander Chadov, Russian Basketball Federation director of development Alexey Savrasenko and Russian Basketball Federation department of development employee Vladimir Dyachok also took part.
Despite overcast weather, the game was a big hit and finished in a 10-10 tie.
A team from Moscow, Warner Brazzers, won the Russian 3x3 streetball championship, defeating NOD (Voronezh) in the final, 9-6.
