Gregor Arbet Named League's Top Estonian Player

Kalev guard Gregor Arbet has been named the VTB United League's Top Estonian Player in 2015-16.

This is the 4th year that the VTB United League has honored the top players in each country represented by League clubs. In the seven countries with just one club (Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Finland and Georgia), the winners are determined by the league's expert panel. In Russia, which has nine clubs, Russian information agency TASS partners with the league to name the Top Russian Player.

This is Gregor Arbet's first time being honored as the League's Top Estonian Player. Kalev guard Tanell Sokk picked up the honor in 2012-13, while Rain Veideman twice won the award in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Arbet played 29 games for Kalev, averaging 29.3 minutes, 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and an efficiency rating of 9.1.

- Thank you for the award, - said Arbet. - But I expected more from myself and the team. Kalev was inconsistent all season. At the end of the year, we played better. We're totally capable of competing with even the league's top clubs. There were too many "good" losses. I'm sick of them, to be honest! If we could have won a few of those games, I'd be in a much different mood. It's good that we beat Tsmoki-Minsk at the end and finished the season on a high note.
