Cory Higgins honored as League Scoring Champion
Triumph guard Cory Higgins was honored as the 2013-2014 Scoring Champion. The award ceremony was held today in Lyubertsy prior to the first-round playoff game between Triumph and Spartak. Higgins received his award from basketball legend and current VTB United League deputy general director, Ilona Korstin.
Cory Higgins averaged 21.5 points per game during the regular season, surpassing Andrew Goudelock's 20.1 ppg for UNICS and Willie Deane's 18.4 ppg for Kransy Oktyabr.
- This is a big honor for me. I'm proud of it, - said Cory Higgins in an interview with our website. - But I have to say that this is recognition of the team's work as a whole. We play together, shoulder to shoulder, and help each other out. Now Triumph's primary challenge is to advance as far as possible in the playoffs.
