Artem Klimenko Wins Young Player Of The Month

Avtodor center Artem Klimenko has been named the VTB United League's December Young Player of the Month.

For the 4th straight year, the VTB United League will recognize the league's Young Player of the Year, awarded to a player born in 1993 or later.

The league also names a monthly winner and Top 3, with those results impacting the selection of the Young Player of the Year.
Avtodor center Artem Klimenko takes home the honor in December. The 21-year-old Russian helped his team to two wins this month (vs. Astana and Bisons), patrolling the paint on defense and putting up some nice numbers on offense. Klimenko averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and a 13.5 efficiency rating in December.

Joining Klimenko in December's Top 3 are Nymburk guard Chasson Randle and Enisey guard Denis Zakharov.

- I'm very happy and grateful to the league for rating my play so highly, - noted Klimenko. - It's motivation to work even harder on my game and help out the team more. We played well in December and I'm happy with Avtodor's position as we near the midway mark of the season. I hope we don't stop there, reach the playoffs and finish as high as we can in the league.
