Alexey Shved Wins December MVP

Khimki guard Alexey Shved has been named the VTB United League December MVP.

The VTB United League and Sport-Express use the following factors when selecting the MVP: player efficiency rating, expert rankings and the VTB-League.com fan vote.

Both Shved and Kalev center Josh Boone finished with 6 points, but VTB United League and Sport-Express experts ranked Shved higher than Boone, giving the Russian playmaker the tiebreaker. Avtodor forward Travis Peterson rounded out the top 3, earning 5 points.

Shved helped Khimki to a perfect 4-0 record in December, recording wins against Lokomotiv-Kuban, VEF, Tsmoki-Minsk and Kalev. Shved transitioned to a starting role this month, averaging 18.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists and a 20.0 efficiency rating per game. His best performance came against Lokomotiv-Kuban. Shved led Moscow Region to victory in double overtime, posting 32 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and a 34 efficiency rating against the Railwaymen!

Joining Shved on the VTB United League All-December team, as selected by VTB United League and Sport-Express experts, are Avtodor forward Travis Peterson, UNICS forward Latavious Williams, Kalev center Josh Boone and CSKA guard Nando De Colo.
