Zenit Takes Down Bisons

Zenit defeated Bisons on the road, 83-62. The home team kept the score close for 30 minutes, trailing by eight entering the 4th quarter. That's when Zenit stepped on the gas, outscoring Bisons 21-8 over the final 10 minutes for a comfortable 21-point win.

Zenit entered Saturday's contest with a 5-0 record, looking to remain the league's only unbeaten team. Going up against a 1-6 Bisons club, Zenit was heavily favored, despite playing without October MVP Ryan Toolson.

Boosted by 3-pointers from Janis Timma, Kyle Landry and Aleksandr Karpukhin, Zenit raced out to a 17-5 lead.

The Finns responded with several 3's from Ronald Clark and Mikko Koivisto to cut the deficit to two after 10 minutes.

Down a point midway through the 2nd quarter, Bisons allowed Zenit to finish the half on a 13-5 run and lead 42-34 at the break.

Zenit continued to control the tempo in the 3rd quarter. The visitors led by as much 14, entering the final period with a 62-54 advantage.

Zenit's Kyle Landry scored the first four points of the 4th quarter and Evgeny Valiev added a jumper to make it 68-54. Bisons never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way, held to eight points in the period. Zenit improves to 6-0 to remain atop the league standings.
