«Spartak» St. Petersburg, Russia vs. «Lietuvos Rytas» Vilnius, Lithuania

The Russian Spartak, losing in the first half with a score 7:27, took the victory from Lietuvos Rytas on the home parquet- 72:65 and reached the quarter finals.

Alexandr Dzicic players began a principal match for the second place in Group very successfully. Visitors not only reached the devastating mark of «+20» points for 15 minutes, but also played great in defense ... missed only 7 points!

One cannot but forget the match of Spartak with the Polish Asseco Prokom- 45:50, where  anti-record of the League was set for the overall effectiveness in the match.
But in the second half Spartak came to the court in completely different mood. It was clear from the first minutes, when Miha Zupan scored from three-point line, and Viktor Keyru made a rebound and scored two points. It was the 23rd number of red and white who  became a symbol of this «return», scored 6 points in the third 10-minute. And in the 27th minute Loukas Mavrokefalidis scored a three-pointer - 35:39.

The fate of the match was still in the hands of the visitors, but Lietuvos Rytas players were still nervous (18 losses per game). Dzicic took time-outs, one after another, but it did not help. At the end of the quarter Spartak guard Patrick Beverley 3.2 minutes before the final siren led his team ahead Spartak - 60:59! the Baltic team had enough time to win back, but ... First, Valery Likhodey scored from beyond the arc - 63:59, and then Jure Zdovc players scored distant shots in a row (thanks to Zozulin and Beverley) - 72:64.

The final score - 72:65. in Spartak the most productive were Beverley (16 points), and Mavrokefalidis and Keyru (13 each). The only player in Lietuvos Rytas who scored two-digit number of points - was Tyrese Rice (21).
