Toolson Guides Zenit Over Kalev
Zenit defeated Kalev at home on Wednesday, 101-69. St. Petersburg raced to a 20-point lead in the 1st quarter, sparked by Ryan Toolson's 12 points. The visitors got as close as eight in the 2nd quarter, but Zenit would not be denied, going up 15 at halftime before cruising to the 32-point win in the second half. St. Petersburg has now won 18 games and scored over 100 points in six of them.

Playing at home vs. 14th-place Kalev, Zenit dominated the opening minutes of this contest. Ryan Toolson got hot from outside, Zabian Dowdell got the team going in transition, while the defense held the visitors to 10 points in the 1st quarter for a 30-10 lead.
Kalev bounced back in the 2nd quarter by slowing the tempo. Rain Veideman and Rolands Freimanis also had success on offense, helping briefly cut the deficit to eight. But Zenit regained the momentum to end the first half, heading to the locker room with a 51-36 edge.
The home team added to its lead in the second half. Ryan Toolson and Kaspars Berzins were unstoppable, finishing the game with a combined 51 points! During the final quarter, Zenit product Evgeny Sidorov even made his league debut, knocking down a '3' and dishing an assist to Andrey Koshcheev for the final basket of the game: 101-69.
