VEF defeated Vita in Riga, 99-59. The home team pulled away in the opening period, cruising to a dominating win against last-place Tbilisi. Riga has now won nine games and trails Enisey by half a game for 10th place.

Vita hoped to pick up its first win in the league on Sunday, coming off a narrow defeat vs. Zenit earlier in the week.
Defense was the name of the game early as both teams combined for nine points in the first five minutes. VEF eventually got going with forward Josh Bostic. Two 3-pointers from the big man helped VEF pull away by 12, 22-10, in the opening period.
Vita threw out a zone defense to start the 2nd quarter. Riga struggled initially, but didn't need long to feel comfortable, surging to a 39-21 advantage at halftime thanks to perimeter shooting.
There would be no intrigue in the second half. Vita was decent on defense, but simply couldn't score, shutting down any hopes of a comeback. VEF cruises to a 40-point win and picks up its 9th win in the league.
Star Player
Josh Bostic. The American's perimeter shooting helped VEF pull away in the 1st quarter. He continued to score efficiently, finishing with 17 points on 6-8 shooting (including 5-6 from downtown).
