Milestone Win For Kurtinaitis

Khimki defeated Vita on the road on Monday evening, 108-52. The visitors picked up a big lead in the first half and cruised to their 9th-straight victory, led by Josh Boone's 25 points. Head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis also celebrated his 100th win in the VTB United League.

Recap
Entering Monday's clash in Tbilisi, Khimki head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis had won 99 games in the VTB United League, and had an opportunity to become the first coach in league history to 100.

Alexey Shved and James Augustine did not suit up for the visitors, but that did not prevent Khimki from quickly seizing control. Vita fell behind by 17 in the opening period, unable to solve Egor Vyaltsev or Marko Todorovic. After 10 minutes, Khimki enjoyed a commanding 32-15 lead.

During the 2nd quarter, Josh Boone and Petteri Koponen picked up where Vyaltsev and Todorovic left off. Khimki shared the ball and scored efficiently, while limiting the home team to a paltry 26 points in the first half.

It only got worse for Vita in the second half. Khimki ultimately won by 56, more than doubling Vita's point total, 108-52.
