Bisons' Upset Bid Falls Short

The Red-Blues traveled to Finland without several key players: Milos Teodosic, Nando De Colo, Pavel Korobkov and Joel Freeland. Trailing by nine games in the standings, Bisons looked to take advantage of CSKA's weakened roster, opening with an 8-1 run. Martin Zeno and Ike Udanoh led the way for the Finns, who enjoyed a 50-45 advantage at halftime.
The Army Men were better in the 3rd quarter. Cory Higgins scored nine points in the period to put CSKA on top, 68-66, entering the 4th quarter.
Looking to put Bisons away, CSKA's Vitaly Fridzon erupted for 14 points over the first six minutes, helping his team take a 15-point lead. After hanging tough for over 30 minutes, Bisons finally ran out of steam, dropping a 98-82 decision. The Army Men improve to 16-1 and stretch their winning streak to 13.

Vitaly Fridzon. The Russian national team sniper provided the turning point in the game, dropping 14 points in the 4th quarter to help CSKA pull away. He finished with a game-high 26 and knocked down all nine free-throw attempts.
