CSKA Moscow, Russia vs. «Enisey» Krasnoyarsk, Russia

CSKA Moscow defeated Enisey Krasnoyarsk at home, 94-64. The Siberians played CSKA tight in the opening minutes, but the Army Men's depth soon won out. The home team led by double digits at halftime, cruising to victory in the second half. With the win, CSKA improves to a league-best 13-1.

Enisey has struggled in Moscow and today's game proved no exception. The Siberians were forced to play without two starting forwards--D.J. Kennedy and Pavel Spiridonov--both out with injuries.

Early on, however, Enisey had the upper hand. Denis Zakharov and Tony Taylor combined to go 4-7 from the field in the 1st quarter and 18-year-old Sergei Mitusov even got some playing time after Zakharov picked up his second foul. Leading much of the 1st quarter, Krasnoyarsk trailed by four after 10 minutes, 29-25.

Improved defense helped the Red-Blues build a solid cushion in the 2nd quarter. At the other end, The Army Men's balanced offense pushed the lead to double digits. By halftime, the home team enjoyed a 59-42 advantage.

Nando De Colo's '3' early in the 3rd quarter made it a 64-42 game. Enisey would not threaten the rest of the way, unable to solve the home team's defense. Both teams emptied their benches in the final minutes and Mitusov even scored his first points in the VTB United League, knocking down a jumper late in the 4th quarter. CSKA wins by 30 to take a two-game lead on 2nd-place UNICS.

Star Player
Milos Teodosic. His play in the 1st quarter helped CSKA overturn an early deficit. Teodosic scored and distributed the ball to lead the home team to a big victory over Enisey.

Stat of the Game
25 and 39 - the visitors scored 25 points in the 1st quarter and only trailed by four at the first break. CSKA's defense was rock-solid, however, the rest of the way, limiting Enisey to 39 points in the final 30 minutes.

- Поздравляю всех с очередной победой. Мы играли значительно лучше, особенно после первой четверти, в которой мы не особенно бодро оборонялись. Во второй четверти мы победили со счетом 30-17, что опустошило «Енисей» психологически, и во второй половине соперники набрали меньше очков, чем в одном первом периоде. Хочу поблагодарить болельщиков за поддержку и пожелать им счастливого Нового года и Рождества.
