Lokomotiv Gets Back On Track

Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar defeated Enisey Krasnoyarsk on the road, 82-73. Malcolm Delaney lifted the visitors to a hard-fought win, scoring nine points in the final minutes to help hold off Enisey. With the victory, Krasnodar snaps a two-game losing streak and moves one game over .500.

Intro
Both teams relied on half-court offense, slowing the tempo and extending possessions. The home team led after 10 minutes, 19-18, then opened the 2nd quarter on an 11-2 run to make it a 10-point game. Enisey's balanced offense was key against a stingy Lokomotiv defense. Eight different players scored for Krasnoyarsk in the first half, though the visitors were able to erase the early deficit and knot the score at 40-40 entering halftime.

Enisey quickly built a seven-point lead in the 3rd quarter, but it didn't last long. As soon as Enisey center Tim Olbrecht checked out of the game, Kuban began to dominate. Malcolm Delaney led the way for the visitors, helping his team take a three-point lead, 65-62, into the final period.

Turning Point
Delaney's excellence and Enisey's mistakes down the stretch decided the outcome of this game. Leading by two, Delaney knocked down a pair of difficult shots. At the other end, Pavel Sergeev and Vladimir Pichkurov committed back-to-back turnovers, allowing the Railwaymen to go up by six. Delaney iced the game at the free-throw line, giving Loko an important 82-73 victory.
