Bisons Overtake Astana

Bisons defeated Astana at home, 81-75. The home team seized the momentum in the 1st quarter and held on for an important win.

The visitors led Bisons by a game in the standings, making this an important matchup for both teams. From the opening tip, the Finns proved just how much they wanted a win.

Led by Martin Zeno, Greg Gibon's men went on the attack immediately. The Finns also took care of business on defense, limiting Astana to 1-12 shooting from beyond the arc in the first half. Through the first 20 minutes, Bisons enjoyed a comfortable 51-34 advantage.

Astana continued to struggle from outside in the second half, though the defense improved. Kenneth Hayes and Nik Caner-Medley even cut the deficit to seven early in the 4th quarter, but Astana never really threatened. Zeno always had an answer, finishing with 30 points to lead Bisons to their 4th win of the season and 3rd in their last four games.

Martin Zeno. Bisons' leading scorer demonstrated his importance to the team tonight. He scored 21 points in the first half and finished with a game-high 30, including several big baskets down the stretch.
