Kalev Answers Enisey

Kalev defeated Enisey in Tallinn, 80-70. The home team pulled away in the 3rd quarter thanks to Josh Boone's dominance on the glass and several 3-pointers. Boone went on to set the league record for rebounds (20), helping Kalev to the win.

Intro
This was the third meeting between these two teams this season. Enisey won both contests in the FIBA Europe Cup and knew that a victory today could lift the team to 7th in the standings. Kalev, however, had other plans on its home court.

The game got off to a high-scoring start, but defense gradually took over. Krasnoyarsk enjoyed a five-point advantage after 10 minutes, 22-17, led by Alexander Pavlov and Vladimir Pichkurov.

Kalev responded with an 11-0 run to open the 2nd quarter. Kalev shut down Enisey's Delroy James and Denis Zakharov for most of the 2nd quarter, but the end of the first half belonged to the visitors. Artem Yakovenko, Tim Olbrecht and Zakharov gave Krasnoyarsk a two-point advantage at the break, 33-31.

The home team's offense came alive in the third period. Two Gregor Arbet 3's got Kalev going, while Josh Boone took over in the paint to lift the Estonians to a 52-42 lead entering the 4th quarter.

Turning Point
The visitors cut the deficit to four points, 72-68, late in the contest, but that was as close as they could get. Enisey's full-court press gave up several easy baskets and Kalev closed out the win at the free-throw line.

Star Player
Josh Boone. Kalev's American center helped the home team dominate the glass. He finished with an impressive 23 points and 20 rebounds.

Stat of the Game
