Ettore Messina returned to CSKA

The famous Italian specialist Ettore Messina  returned to CSKA after three years replacing the head coach - Lithuanian coach Jonas Kazlauskas. PBC CSKA Board which took place on late Monday adopted 3-year development program. The Board decided not to extend Jonas Kazlauskas’ contract and to entrust the head coaching job to Ettore Messina.

We remind that Italian specialist was headed CSKA in the seasons-2004/05 - 2008/09. Under his guidance army club qualified for the Euroleague Final Four for 4 seasons in a row, winning 2 titles, they won 4 Russian League titles, VTB United League Promo Cup and 2 Russian Cups. After leaving CSKA Messina coached Real Madrid and worked as coach-consultant for the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

Last season the Lithuanian specialist Jonas Kazlauskas with CSKA won the champion titles of VTB United League, the Russian League and the Euroleague silver, where the army club in a dramatic match lost to the Greek Olympiacos.
